Business Summary
Available for sale, a twenty-five year old manufacturing operation providing its customers with custom fitted aluminum awnings and patio covers. The Company’s reputation is rock-solid, and its customer base is loyal. Its niche is serving customers demanding customized product in a timely, efficient manner, and at a reasonable price.
The production plant is immaculate, orderly, and set up for efficiency. The machinery is in excellent condition, and many machines are relatively new. Aluminum is the raw material of choice because it is recyclable, far more durable than wood, plastic, fiber-glass, and plastic, maintenance free, and, if desired, can be formed to be almost indistinguishable from wood. To contribute to the environment in its small way, the Company uses only environmentally friendly continuous cast aluminum. The raw material is delivered in large coils at the beginning of the production process, is then cut, formed, painted, and prepared for shipping, all in-house. The Company does not install. The in-house painting capability is fully permitted, and the equipment utilized is state of the art. The relationship with AQMD and EPA is flawless.
The employees are well-trained and capable of operating the Company on a day to day basis. Eight of the 21 employees have a combined tenure of 53 years. Depending on the season, there are 11 to 13 full-time employees and the remainder part-time. The benefits provided are typical for a company of this size.
Little marketing is undertaken, with most of the selling effort being in the form of direct sales calls, direct mail, the website, and simply word of mouth. The Company’s market is regional, and customers are contractors, awning companies, and mobile home dealers. One customer represents approximately 20% of revenues; the remainder are individually insignificant to total revenues. Repeat business is approximately 95%, and approximately 80% of all sales are COD. There are two primary vendors, but other sources are readily available.
A stock sale/purchase is sought, to ensure a uncontested transfer of the licensing and permits necessary for painting in-house. If this well-managed business is of interest, please contact the above indicated individual to receive additional information.
